Vice president and Head of Physical Education Organization presented a report about the condition of sport of the country in the cabinet meeting which was held with presence of Dr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
According to I.R.I NPC Public Relations and Iran Sport newscast report, in the cabinet session which was held with presence of Dr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Dr. Saiedlou reported the recent achievements of Iranian athletes in world championships and international competitions and said: these accomplishments were achieved as a result of special attention of the tenth government to sport and appreciated the supports of Dr. Ahmadinejad from Physical Education Organization.
In the cabinet session, Vice president and Head of Physical Education Organization mentioned the statistics regarding championships of Iran and reiterated: with great scheduling of government and Physical Education Organization, we could see the success of Iranian athletes in different international competitions which expresses high spirits and motivation in sport of the country.
Dr. Saiedlou also mentioned his 47-week presence in Physical Education Organization and reiterated: Dr. Ahmadinejad said he followed championships of Iranian athletes in praising ceremony held for champions. He declared after 47 weeks from the beginning of their programming in Physical Education Organization, we could see an average of one individual or group success per week. Fortunately, many of these successes were gained by women or in team sports for the first time; this shows that sport in Iran is improving and growing. The head of Physical Education Organization mentioned the latest championships in sport society and said: during these 47 weeks more than 17 first and second world places were gained by Iranian athletes. In the recent week, National Sitting Volleyball team raised the flag of Iran in the US and National Taekwondo team became the World champion. Furthermore, women could acquire world places in archery and shooting for the first time. Our athletes could also win first and second places in Asia in wrestling, karate, swimming, hockey, boxing, basketball and volleyball as well as great places in other sports.
In this meeting, Dr. Ahmadinejad expressed his happiness with places gained by Iranian athletes in international competitions and congratulated to Physical Education Organization officials, athletes and coaches mentioning two recent championships in sitting volleyball and taekwondo. The ministers of the cabinet also congratulated these recent successes to Iranian people, members of the cabinet and Physical Education Organization.
Vice President appreciated Dr. Ahmadinejad’s supports from Physical Education Organization for the sake of expansion and improvement of sport in his report in the cabinet session.
